BUY A BED FOR A NEIGHBOR IN NEED
During this tough economic time coupled with extreme cold temperatures, New Horizons for New Hampshire emergency shelter needs your help.
The shelter is experiencing record breaking numbers of people coming to stay. Last evening, we accommodated 82 men and 22 women and the evening before, 113 people stayed when our capacity is presently 76.
Who benefits from your support? Among those served are the working poor, those temporarily or chronically homeless, the elderly living on fixed incomes, families struggling to make ends meet, individuals with problems related to alcohol or other substances. The unduplicated number of families using our food pantry is at an all time high of 1,100 per month. The common thread in each of their personal stories is that they are all people in need… of food, shelter, and someone to care.
In addition, we would like to restore dignity and show compassion to these individuals who have encountered massive challenges. Your contribution will enable us to provide more people with healthier sleeping quarters (upgraded from floor mats), along with mattresses that are easily cleaned, more resistant to wear and provide the safest environment.
The proposed project involves the purchase and installation of Evolution Eco Lumber beds and Life-Safety Green-Core Sleep Safe vinyl covered mattresses to add to our existing bed availability in our dormitory at 199 Manchester Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. When we reach the number of beds we need we will continue until we have enough to replace the older beds at Angie's Shelter for Women. Each bed/mattress set costs $400.00 each.
If you would like to help support a bed for a neighbor in need, please let us know:
