Birch Hill Terrace Donates to New Horizons

MANCHESTER’S BIRCH HILL TERRACE RAISES MONEY FOR

NEW COATS FOR NEW HORIZONS

Manchester, NH – Monday, December 19, 2011

Thanks to the generosity of residents, staff, and Board members of Birch Hill Terrace, cash donations totaling $2,206 were raised and donated to New Horizons in the form of gift cards to Kohl’s Department Store for the purchase of new coats for New Horizons clients.

Residents also collected over 100 used and new coats along with over 33 sets of hats and mittens. These were donated to New Horizons shelter in Manchester. The campaign ran at Birch Hill terrace between November 28th and December 10th. The drive was organized by resident and board member, Chuck Smith.

Birch Hill Terrace presented these items to Charlie Sherman and Dan Noury of New Horizons on Thursday, December 15, 2011. “We are so pleased to work with such wonderful people at Birch Hill”, commented Charlie Sherman.

Birch Hill Terrace and staff were on hand for the presentation and several residents spoke emotionally about a personal connection when giving warm clothes to children whose families cannot afford to buy them. Charlie closed the presentation by inviting all Birch Hill Terrace residents and staff to visit New Horizons for a personal tour to see all the lives that are being touched on a daily basis.
