Veteran Services
Helping Homeless Veterans
Veteran services began as of October 1st this year with New Horizons getting awarded sub-grantee grants through the US Department of Labor’s Homeless Veterans Re-integration Program (HVRP) and the Veterans Affairs Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF).
A part-time vocational manager and full-time case manager were able to be hired to work specifically with our homeless veterans. In its first month of service these two programs screened fourteen Veterans through our shelter and were able to provide employment and supportive services to seven of these veterans.
There is also an outreach component to these programs which is able to cover much of the State. We serviced an additional 4 veterans in this manner.

Feed the Need
Over the course of the next week or so, local restaurants will be handing out "Feed the Need" flyers in an effort to help benefit New Horizons. Over 30 Restaurants graciously accepted the request to distribute the flyers. Please show your support and patron our friends at these restaurants:
