"I am Home" with John McAndrew
February 19, 2010

As you know the down turn of the economy has made it even more difficult to raise funds.  One of the ways we have tried to overcome the deficiency is to partner with 3rd parties to benefit New Horizons for New Hampshire.

Westbridge Community Services has once again offered to sponsor a benefit concert on our behalf.

John McAndrew is coming back to perform in Manchester!   John’s music has graced the big screen, and has been heard all over the world.  His recent work is a solo personal journey show called “I Am Home” which he performs for concert audiences and national events like the Betty Ford 25th Anniversary Banquet, Elizabeth Taylor Whitman-Walker Fund Raiser, Habitat For Humanity International, Martin Luther King Day, or The National Town Hall Meeting with Colin Powell.  John is entertaining and his music is sure to inspire all of us.

All proceeds from this performance will benefit the New Horizons Soup Kitchen, Homeless Shelter, Food Pantry and Angie’s Shelter for Women.  Our food pantry consistently provides nutritious foods to over 800 impoverished children and families each month.  Our shelters average 72 individuals staying each night and our soup kitchen serves over 200 meals each day.

With your assistance, we will be able to continue our mission to provide food and shelter to people who are hungry and homeless and to help them in their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Tickets for the show are available by calling Westbridge Community Services -Norm Asselin at 634-4446 x 115.

Visa, MC and American Express cards are accepted.

Chalifour's Rose to Fight Hunger
September 28, 2009

46 Elm Street, Mancheseter
- Help Feed The Needy In Your Own Neighborhood And Receive A Free Rose With Any Donation.
September 28th - October 10th

Chalifour’s Flowers, Gift and Gourmet will reward the generosity of people who donate non-perishable food items with a rose from September 28th – October 10th.  Anyone may bring non-perishable food donations for New Horizons to Chalifour’s at 46 Elm Street, Manchester, NH, and in exchange, they will receive a beautiful rose for their food or monetary donation.

Chalifour’s has been doing business in Manchester for over 60 years and give back to the community in many ways.  “We know that there is a great need for food assistance in our community.  We wanted to do something that would reach out and inspire others to give.  This worked very well last year and we are pleased to do it once again.” said Doris Bergeron, Chalifour’s Director of Administration.  “Giving people a rose for a food donation seems like a nice way to give back to a great community while making a difference for our neighbors in need.  We are hoping to raise as much food as possible to help the families and individuals that need this help to keep up with the high costs of items like housing, utilities and gas.”

New Horizons Food Pantry serves over 800 children and families each month.

Empty Bowls - Thanks to all who joined us!!!!!
September 27, 2009

The annual Empty Bowls event was held on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Brookside Church, 2013 Elm Street in Manchester from 11:30-2:00 pm. Sponsored by the NH Potters Guild, the event raised just over $6,000 for New Horizons for New Hampshire. Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger. Potters make and donate ceramic soup bowls.  Guests choose and buy a bowl of soup for $20. Lower price for kids. Soups are donated by over a dozen local restaurants. This year, we were happy to have Trinity HS Football Team help us to laddle soup, take tickets and clean up.  Also new to the event, was a silent auction.  Thanks to Paul Hanson and NE Pictures for their participation.  More information call Michelle at 603 668-1877 x 125
