22nd ANNUAL NEW HORIZONS WALK AGAINST HUNGER RAISES $128,000
MANCHESTER, NH – The 22nd Annual New Horizons Walk Against Hunger was held on Sunday, May 20th raising a record setting $128,000 to ensure food and shelter for the hungry and homeless people of Greater Manchester.
Charlie Sherman, Executive Director said, “It’s a feel good event, knowing that every dollar will help to provide children and their families. When children and their families come to New Horizons either for food distributed by our food pantry or for hot dinner meals served in our soup kitchen, it helps to keep them [children and their families] in their homes simply by saving enough money per month to pay rent.”
Roy Tilsley, Board President New Horizons said, “The event is one of our most notable fundraisers. Thanks to everyone who came out to show support and spend the day out of doors with friends, families and co-workers. Many people will be served essential food and provided shelter by the money raised at this event. I am pleased to see so many people coming out to show support and help us at this trying time.”
Walkers from 44 teams made up of families, non profit groups, churches, and individuals came out to walk the four mile route to join together committed to ending this crises in our community.
